Since separating from Huawei to become a standalone brand, Honor has been releasing new products on a regular basis. It has also introduced a few high-end smartphones to the market, but has not yet considered foldable devices.
Today, the firm formally teased its forthcoming handset, the Honor Magic V, which will be the brand’s first foldable smartphone when it launches later this year. The brand’s teaser doesn’t disclose much about the phones, but it does show two panels joined by a hinge.
Nothing else about this upcoming smartphone has been revealed by the company. It’s unclear whether the phone has a book-like fold or a clamshell fold. Honor is expected to release two foldable smartphones, one of which could be the Magic V.
Despite the fact that Honor has not confirmed this, the device is expected to be released in January. Furthermore, the company’s official teaser almost confirms that the foldable smartphone will be released soon.
The upcoming Honor foldable smartphone has been rumored to have an 8-inch inner display and a 6.5-inch cover screen, but it’s unclear if the Magic V is this device. It’s also rumored to use BOE and Visionox display panels.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, which was released earlier this month, is likely to power the phone. Honor was mentioned as one of the first manufacturers to release a smartphone with the new SoC, and this could be it.
In the coming days, we expect the company to tease more information about this upcoming foldable smartphone, including key specifications and features.
