It’s possible that Instagram Stories will be extended in the near future! Instagram now allows you to publish stories for a maximum of 15 seconds. However, some users around the world are getting an experimental feature that allows them to load up to 60-second Stories. Please keep in mind that this feature is still in beta and has not yet been formally released or made available to everyone in the world. Matt Navarra, a social media expert, was the first to notice the longer version of Instagram Stories when he uploaded a screenshot of the banner seen in Turkey. Users will now be allowed to upload videos that are up to 60 seconds long.

This is a significant increase in duration from the previous 15 seconds, which limited them to a few short-form stories. Instagram Stories lives up to its name. For the time being, the longest duration of Stories has only been seen in Instagram testing. It’s unclear whether the 60-second format for Stories will be adopted by Meta’s other companies, including as WhatsApp and Facebook. In most cases, a new feature introduced on one of these platforms is quickly copied on the others.

Instagram Stories now have a 60-second duration, which is great for folks who want to upload long-form movies or monologues. Stories that are longer than 15 seconds are now broken into 15-second chunks and displayed as the “story” below. It might be quite beneficial to content providers, as it is only 60 seconds long. Instagram Stories’ longer duration could be an attempt to entice users away from rival services like Snapchat and TikTok.

Instagram, on the other hand, already has its Reels feature, which is designed to compete with TikTok’s short-form videos and includes a comparable set of AR effects and multimedia capabilities. In similar news, Instagram announced a few weeks ago that its Thread app would be shut down. The thread aimed to compete with Snapchat by letting users to upload and send Insta Stories without having to open Instagram. Following that, the app merged direct messaging, allowing users to message each other directly.
