Simon Katich, an assistant coach and former Australia batsman, has resigned after being dissatisfied with the auction’s purchase of some players at exorbitant prices. In his place, Simon Helmott will serve as the team’s assistant coach. Simon is an Australian who previously worked as a coach for the Melbourne Renegades in the BBL.
The Sunrisers’ support staff now includes Katich, West Indies legend Brian Lara, and former India batsman Hemang Badani, in addition to head coaches Tom Moody and Muttiah Muralitharan. After the auction on Friday, Katich resigned.
