KL Rahul failed in captaincy: Rahul made big mistakes in Johannesburg

The second test between India and South Africa was won by South Africa by 7 wickets in Johannesburg. Africa set a target of 240 runs, which they easily met with only three wickets lost. The African team now has a 1-1 tie in the three-match Test series.

KL Rahul captained for the first time in the absence of an injured Virat Kohli, and he was defeated in this match. With India’s defeat, Lokesh Rahul’s captaincy has once again been questioned.

Rahul made a lot of mistakes in Johannesburg.

Mistake 1: There was a lot of expectation from the African team’s fast bowlers on the fourth day, when they returned to the field after a long break due to rain. The score for SA was 118/2, and Rahul passed the baton to R Ashwin. However, despite only bowling two overs, Ashwin conceded eight runs. The pitch immediately helped the fast bowlers after the rain. Bumrah’s bowling demonstrated this clearly.

It would have put more pressure on the batsmen if the other side had fast bowling as well. Ashwin’s two overs allowed the African batsmen to get their bearings.

Second blunder: after 10 overs on the fourth day, Rahul handed over the bowling to Shardul Thakur, who broke many records by taking 7 wickets in the first innings. Thakur was in excellent form and had also taken a wicket in the second innings. KL did not make proper use of them.
