Former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson has been entrusted with a large responsibility by the Delhi Capitals for the IPL 2022 season. Watson has been named the team’s assistant coach. This information was shared via social media by the franchise. Watson, who has previously played for the Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Chennai Super Kings in the IPL, will make his IPL coaching debut.

After the IPL 2020, Shane announced his retirement from professional cricket. Ajit Agarkar, a former Indian fast bowler, has been appointed as the team’s assistant coach, in addition to Delhi franchise Shane Watson. Ricky Ponting is the team’s head coach, and Rishabh Pant is the captain. James Hopes will be seen as the bowling coach at the same time.

Watson is expected to sign with the Delhi Capitals by the end of the week. On Tuesday, he confirmed it himself. Mohammad Kaif had been the team’s assistant coach before him, but his contract was not renewed this time. From 2019 to 2022, Kaif held this position.
