Ukraine: Many government websites temporarily closed on Friday after cyber attacks

Following the massive cyber attacks on Ukraine, several government websites were temporarily shut down on Friday. This information was provided by country officials.

On Friday, Oleg Nikolenko, a spokesman for the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, told the Associated Press that it was too early to say who was behind the attack. “It’s too soon to draw any conclusions because the cases are still being investigated,” he said, “but Russia’s cyber attacks against Ukraine have a long history.”

In the past, Russia has denied cyber-attacks on Ukraine.

Hackers have taken down the websites of the country’s cabinet, seven ministries, the Treasury, the National Disaster Service, and the state service for passports and vaccination certificates, according to officials.
