Five-time world champion Andrey Rublev has tested positive for COVID-19. He confirmed the results on Monday. He is the Russian tennis pro is now the 5th to be positive for COVID-19 following taking part in an exhibition match at Abu Dhabi, this month. Prior to that, Rafael Nadal and his coach Carlos Moya along with Denis Shapovalov, Olympic tennis champion Belinda Bencic and Tunisian Ons Jabeur were been confirmed positive for COVID-19 after their participation at the exhibition tournament within the UAE.
“I I am in Barcelona and was unfortunately positive for COVID-19” He wrote on Twitter. “I am currently in isolation and am following all the procedures and under supervision by a doctor.”
Rublev who is in Barcelona He said Rublev will fly to Melbourne but only if it is “safe for all”.
“As you may have guessed I’m completely vaccinated, and was preparing for tournaments like the ATP Cup and Australian Open. Now I need to recuperate and then I’ll travel to Melbourne only if it can be completely safe for everyone.”
